Welcome to Our Food Services Page!

Granville Exempted Village School District is pleased to be partnering with AVI Fresh to bring an innovative student lunch program to our schools. Our focus is growing healthy students. Our lunches feature the freshest ingredients, prepared daily in our schools. We use organic foods and products whenever possible and feasible. We believe in “local.” We buy produce and foods from local Licking and Knox County farmers to promote sustainability. More than 25% of our food comes from a radius less than 75 miles from our schools. Some produce even comes from our own school gardens! Our meals are served in refreshed dining areas to create an inviting atmosphere. We’ve added food service lines for increased service and more dining time. Our fresh, healthy student lunch program continues to earn national recognition as schools across the country contact us to learn how to start their own program, modeled after Granville Schools.

We offer more choices for every student, every day. We provide a daily vegetarian option and are introducing gluten-free options, too. The “Fresh Market” at Granville High and Middle schools providing daily variety, includes choices from our Grill, Deli, Trattoria, Fusion, and Agave stations. A la carte choices include Smoothies, Specialty Salads, Pitas & Hummus, Fresh Fruit, Yogurt Parfaits and much more!

Our student-focused food service provides reusable serve ware, including trays and silverware, to reduce waste. In the first year, we were able to reduce our lunch waste by 80 bags a day!

USDA Free & Reduced Lunch Application

During the 2021-2022 school year, children and families benefitted from no-cost school meals for all students, made possible by special permission from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Unfortunately, these permissions have expired. Granville Schools and the Ohio Department of Education cannot extend the permissions for no-cost meals for all students.

School meals will still be available to all students; however, they will not be free to all students. Households may apply for free or reduced-price meal benefits by completing the applications that are available below as was done before the pandemic. Eligibility for free and reduced-price lunch is based on federal income guidelines or participation in other programs such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Ohio Works First. For additional information concerning the National School Lunch Program, please see the U.S. Department of Agriculture webpage.

Food Allergies

If your child has a food allergy or intolerance, please print and complete the form below and turn it into the school.
