Board Member Andrew Kohn Resigns
The Board will formally accept his resignation at its regular Feb. 12 meeting. Mr. Kohn, who was first elected to the Board for a four-year term in 2015, and his family will be moving out of the district in March.

“On behalf of the Board of Education, I would like to thank Andrew for his service and contribution to our schools and to the community” said Board President Russ Ginise. “We wish him and his family well in the next chapter of his life,” Mr. Ginise added.

The Board of Education will be accepting applications to fill the remainder of Mr. Kohn’s term.  To apply, please submit a letter of intent and resume to district Treasurer Mike Sobul. The application deadline is Friday, Feb. 23. According to Ohio law, people serving on boards of education must be at least 18 years of age, a resident of the district and a registered voter.

The Board will begin interviews shortly after the application deadline and must name a replacement within 30 days of the effective date of Mr. Kohn’s resignation. The appointment of a replacement is expected to take place at the regular March 19 Board meeting. The newly-appointed member would serve the remainder of the term, through December 31, 2019. If the appointed member wishes to serve beyond 2019, he or she would need to run for a full-term at the November 2019 general election.

Again, we would like to extend our appreciation to Andrew for his service to the Granville community and Granville students.

Granville Exempted Village School Board member Andrew Kohn resigned his position, effective at the end of February.
