Remediation Successful!

We are pleased to announce that all drinking fountains in Granville Schools have tested below actionable levels for lead content. We are now able to resume use of all fountains in the district. Please click here to view the final results.

The District created a plan for remediation with the assistance of the Ohio EPA, Licking County Health Department and the Village of Granville. Our first step was to replace all of the valves from the main line to the individual drinking fountains. Next, we bypassed the cooling unit in fountains that had filters so that the water would pass directly through the filter to the spout. There were 18 fountains that fell in to this category. After the remedy was in place, we retested these fountains and the results indicated success. The remaining (21) fountains that did not have a filter were replaced with new fountains containing filters and no cooling units. These were installed in the middle of July and testing results demonstrated success. As a preventative maintenance measure, the district will implement a routine schedule to flush the fountains after extended breaks when school is not in session.

Granville Schools continues to be committed to providing a safe and healthy learning environment for our students and appreciate your patience as we strategically worked to resolve this issue.
