Dear Parents/Guardians,
With limited exceptions, Ohio law states that the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) of a student must live in a school district in order for their child (children) to attend school that district. The law also requires nonresident students to pay tuition unless the district is an open enrollment district. The Granville Schools do not participate in open enrollment and do not presently accept tuition students. Therefore, only students whose parent(s) or legal guardian(s) are true residents of the district are entitled to enroll in the Granville Schools. (Special rules apply to student who receive special education or are not in the legal custody of their parents.)
Under Ohio law, nonresident students may be enrolled for a limited period of time if their parents are buying or building a home in a new district. In the Granville schools District, this period has been established as twenty (20) school days. If you wish to take advantage of this 20-day exception, you will need to obtain a notarized statement from your real estate agent or builder. Click here to download sample forms to assist you in this process: 2013-2014 20-day Tuition
Waiver Forms. All forms (90A, 90A2 and 90B) must be signed and notarized.
If you are claiming a current residency in the Granville Exempted Village School District, you must confirm your residency by completing the enclosed Forms 90C and 90D. Both of these forms must be signed and notarized. Please note that supplying the requested forms and documentation does not guarantee that your child (children) will be enrolled in the District. All of the information must be reviewed before a determination can be made as to whether legal residence has been established.
Please mail or drop-off all forms and documentation to:
